Today I started working on haiku-user.org. The goal is to show the non-BeOS user the basics of the Haiku desktop, instructions on using the apps, and haiku tips/tricks. I will probably have about an hour a day to work on this. This site is meant to compliment haikuware and haiku-os.org. I have alot of material written but it will take awhile to get it on the web. For now I will suspend my work on an E-UAE GUI, since E-UAE doesn't work with haiku anyway, and focus on an online "user manual". Hopefully, possibly the content can be filtered back to haiku-os.org's doc team for review.

Haiku will need end user documentation, so this is a valuable initiative. But I really wonder if there is a need to have another website there is already a documentation team that you could work with and a website that you could be using to publish this type of documentation.

I am curious to know what stops you from writing the sort of end user documentation that you are planning to publish on this new website on haiku-os,org instead. The infrastructure is already there, and anybody willing to contribute can actually use it. In other words, the website is waiting to be used by people like you who want to contribute to Haiku. Is there anything specific that does not meet your needs? If that's the case, I am quite sure it could be addressed.
