Haikuware: Software for Haiku

Shortly before its expiration date, the Macbook bounty has been taken up by Christopher Plymire (chrisjp).

Currently, the Macbook is able to boot Haiku, but is fairly limited in hardware support. Chris plans to bring improve/bring video, audio, touchpad and USB support, as well as write drivers for the IR remote and Isight! - at that, all for the low target price of $750 and with a deadline of May 30th. Please read the bounty's technical description for more information.

The Macbook bounty has $250 in it, so we're 1/3 the way there. Please consider donating to this great bounty.

But with this deadline it is just so unrealistic. I could belive this if the deadline is the 30 Mai. 2009.

But with the Deadline 30 Mail it may be possible to start one of the tasks but not possible to cover all the aspects or to finish one of the Aspekts.

So please korrekt this!!!!!!
Either the person who set up the Deadline has no idea of the ammount of work or there is a wrong idea of the complexity of such a task!

I think we have to give the developers leeway with respect to deadline proposals, as they are all individuals with their own work ethics and morals; time will tell... It's unfair to say that x developer has no idea what they're talking about with such a short deadline I think. For instance, I was skeptical when Marcus proposed finishing the SATA/AHCI driver bounty within a month, but he did it... smilies/wink.gif

So sorry about that. I thought someone of the bounty team set this date. But with a deadline with 2 Month he must have most of the stuff nearly running. So looking forward to run Haiku on my Mac.

	yeah we definitely don't make the deadlines. Neither Karl nor myself are developers so it wouldn't be fair for us to set those deadlines. I suspect Chris has already made some progress so I'm confident he'll be fairly close.
