Voting begins today for our October Thank You Award. We are looking into a more memorable prize than $50 and were thinking about the Haiku golf shirts (this way we'll support Haiku as well). Also, we'll try to get a brief interview and snapshot of the winner.
Note, there are enough resources for this fund to survive another round after this award. Show your appreciation towards Haiku developers by donating to this fund today.
Here are the nominees:
1. Niels Reedijk – for collecting proposals and initiating a voting on
an official list of requirements for the alpha release. This has helped
greatly in focussing everyone on the important issues that have to be
solved before the first alpha version of Haiku can be released.
2. Urias McCullough – for his continued commitment to get Haiku Inc. to
a viable state. Haiku Inc. is an important part of the Haiku project,
being the official contact for businesses and other organisations and
for collecting donations for PR and development purposes.
Also, he worked with Coverity to get their code analysis tool to work
on the Haiku source. Many bugs are fixed already and Haiku is more
stable for it, esp. when stressing the system in low resource
situations.
3. Bruno Albuquerque - for his work on cdda/cddb for looking up audio
cd information on the net. He also added a supertype hierarchy in
Tracker's Attribute menu which makes things less messy when having many
different filetypes in a folder.
*Voting will run until Oct. 2nd, since there was a days delay to get the poll up.
