The one thing I have not liked about the bounty system is that they go away, or get merged into other ones. Personally i'd like to see it sit there and build up in hopes that someone will come along and take it on eventually.

I will to chance to talk. If not on undefined time, then bounty should leaving at least 9-12 months. - MaxOS

I'd second thenerd on not leaving bounty money tied up. I think it's disappointing enough not seeing a bounty come to fruition, at least this way, you can move on and either get your money back or contribute to something different.

Haiku is a small community, I figure if a bounty is on this website for 3/4 of a year getting ~600 hits/day, then word would probably get around to a probable candidate developer. After those three quarters are up, it probably just isn't going to happen. - karl

I agree that flash is huge for regular users. It would be a big factor for me.

I don't know if leaving the bounties there forever would be a good thing. I would be afraid it would stay there way too long. Maybe we can prolong the process somewhat but I can't see leaving them there indefinitely. - thenerd

I agree with who ever wanted the Flash bounty. Most casual OS users just surf the web so Flash is a huge deal.

The one thing I have not liked about the bounty system is that they go away, or get merged into other ones. Personally i'd like to see it sit there and build up in hopes that someone will come along and take it on eventually. - mikedoth
