I'm not sure is this the correct place for my problem, but I think so.

I installed Haiku on my notebook, via a external PS2 Keyboard and a external USB Mouse, because the buildin K/M isn't working (on installation ?). After the successful installation, I cannot boot Haiku.
This means, I see the bootmanager and can choose some settings, but nothing help to boot up Haiku complete.
On the boot process, I see all icons for the several steps and than the display is going to a blank black screen, the harddisk is working on for some seconds and that's all. On the display isn't a icon or a mouse or someone else, but it look's like the display isn't in suspend, he shows only nothing.
I retried this with some debug settings, but like said, nothing helps.

Notebook N34A:
- P4 2Ghz, 512MB
- 20GB HDD
- Sis650 Chipset

Can anybody please help me?

I would guess there is some hardware in your notebook that isn't supported. Have you tried booting with the safe mode options (i think that's what it's called)?

I had a similar problem with a laptop and it turned out the video was not supported. It could very well be that the Sis chipset isn't fully supported.

Yes, I tried all the bootmanager options, but nothing helps.

So, I think also there is an problem with the SIS chipset.
But, I can install and I can use the LiveCD/RecoveryCD function, it means, if I boot from the CD (I boot from Floppy and later from CD), the system can work with this chipset and after the successful installation, it's over.
So I have to begin my search at the differences between a BootCD(and Floppy) environment and a installed System env.
I played a bit with the BootScripts, but I cannot get it in a running state.

Can I use a Floppy boot image (...gz), at the installed Bootmanager as a startable image, similar to the floppy/cd boot process ?

Hey,

I would try removing the video driver from your disk installation. The installer CD likely uses VESA, and your physical install the SIS driver.

Well, here a short update.

Now, I successfully installed Beos 5 PE. The updates to 5.0.3 also possible. The only one, what I have to change is the kb_mouse driver to the 'kam' version, for a correct working keyboard/touchpad.
I can also install a ZetaRC3, I have an original, plus the same modification like before.

Now I know, the kb_mouse isn't the cause of the not running Haiku installation.
