yes, this has been reported by other users. i guess haiku just isn't ready for CD booting yet. that's why it's been removed for the time being

Yeah I've had the same problems in the past and it's best to just leave the bootable CD out for now, or at least until it's working better.

It seems that is now possible to compile Haiku with GCC4 without losing backward compatibility with GCC2-compiled applications.

Would be possible to compile Senryu with the new compiler?

Putting aside a better optimization, it would be possible to port a lot of applications that are not compiling anymore with the old GCC.
The benefits are evident, we only have to see if there are more advantages than disadvantages. For example, I was reading that some applications may crash while quitting.
Maybe it's better to wait until the developers say that the GCC4-compiled system is stable.
