Baxter is a _skinnable_ IRC client for the BeOS. Much like mIRC, Baxter
allows you to have your channels as tabs of one window, but for those
used to other clients you can simply drag the tabs away from the window.
Details about this version:
Configurable CTCP responses
CTCP sound now supported (/ctcp sound SoundToPlay)
Bug with uptime reply to sound requests fixed
Option to tell you about incoming ctcp requests (disabled by default)
Scripting! Consult the Scripting documentation in the Help directory for
more details.
CTCP Features
User List Features
New symbols to show ops and voice in user list
Check box to disable sorting users in user list (shown instead by
time when they joined)
Check box to make notification window open after connection to server
New, comprehensive list of preset servers (I'll make the GUI
for this more usable in Baxter Z)
New settings for join, part, quit, and nick change colors
Very useful channel options menu for chan-ops, or just for viewing channel
modes. (not included in the ppc version, will be added for Baxter Z)
/cycle command (parts then joins a channel)
Right-clicking a tab reveals a couple features, with more coming soon
Recent channels menu
Tab colors can be incorporated into a skin. Start Baxter with
--printtabcolors in a Terminal to make Baxter print out the current tab colors.
Look at the Turtle
skin for an example of a skin that has both text colors and tab colors.
Sound Prefs
Highly configurable sounds prefs: some sounds let you select whether
the sound should Always be played when Baxter is not in focus, whether
the sound should be played when it occurs in the focus channel,
and whether it should be played when it occurs in a channel without focus.
New sounds for when a user in your notify list comes online or goes
offline.
Check box to disable Baxter's remote control features (QueryCLAmp will
not work if the remote control features are disabled, of course).
